Akram is optimistic of Cheng Hoe's coaching.

Head coach Tan Cheng Hoe was once again billed to ensure a comfortable supply was achieved in the first leg semi-final of the AFF Cup 2018 at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium on Saturday.

Harimau Malaya's centerpiece, Akram Mahinan is convinced Cheng Hoe, who is also his former coach when in Kedah, has a 'magical' touch to ensure Malaysia is capable of overcoming the War Elephant squad at the meeting.

So, he hopes his teammates will follow Cheng Hoe's instructions that are expected to make some changes in the game.

Malaysia faces a tough squad after being scheduled against Thailand's defending champion in the AFF Cup semi-final campaign this time.

Thailand advanced to the semi-finals after a 3-0 friendly win over Singapore in the last group B match at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok, thus winning the group's champions.

Malaysia clinched the semi-final as Group A runner-up after a 3-0 win over Myanmar in the last leg of the group at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium on Saturday.

The second semi-final match took place in Bangkok on 5 December.
